Home Health Therapy Manager
Riverside Home Health is currently seeking a full time Therapy Manager to be based out of the Newport News, Virginia location. The position would encompass the entire geographical area serviced by Riverside Home Health Agencies to include the regions in the eastern part of Virginia as well as the Eastern Shore. The Therapy Manager works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Operations of Home Health. The Therapy Manager provides day to day oversight for therapy services for Home Health to include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Specific management tasks include hiring, orientation and training of new employees, staff performance evaluations, program planning, and resolving issues that may arise in the course of work. The Therapy Manager is responsible for the quality of work, productivity of staff, morale of workers, labor and supply expense and the working relationship with the clients, physicians, coworkers and other interdisciplinary team members. He/she will be responsible for the development and revisions of policies pertaining to therapy. The Therapy Manager will monitor and assess therapy utilization, case mix, OASIS accuracy and appropriate documentation to insure the highest standard of therapy services are delivered and maintained by the Agencies. The Therapy Manager will support the Agency Nurse Managers as needed. The Therapy Manager is responsible for maintaining knowledge for State and Federal regulatory guidelines and the criteria for reimbursement associated with these bodies. Education Requirements: Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology required; including supervised affiliations, as required. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state and in good standing. Must have or obtain CPR Certification per departmental requirements, and maintain while actively employed with Riverside Home Care. Must have and maintain: a current valid drivers license with proof of satisfactory driving record /history; proof of auto liability coverage as required by Virginia State law. Long Term Acute Care Therapy Manager
Riverside Therapy Group located in Newport News, Virginia is currently seeking a full time Therapy Manager. This individual will work at our Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital which is a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) and is a 25-bed Joint Commission accredited hospital. The Therapy Manager is required to be flexible and dedicated to patient safety and quality of services while managing daily operations of the clinic/unit. He/She is responsible for staff scheduling, work assignments and overall performance of the therapy team. The Therapy Manager provides direct patient care, when needed, as a Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapist. In addition to all the responsibilities of a staff therapist, the Therapy Manager will manage day to day operations of therapy clinic/work unit, lead service recovery efforts, organize and enhance staff education and training opportunities, provide direct supervision and act as a clinical resource to staff. The Manager will assist the Director in facilitating optimal operation of the entire department to include, but not limited to: conducting audits, developing evidence-based practice programs, and writing and reviewing policies. A staff Speech/Language Pathologist is required to be flexible with daily scheduling and may be required to work various patient care settings. A staff Speech Language Pathologist is supervised by the Rehab Services Management. Following appropriate practice, the Speech/Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, and implements individual patient care, educating, counseling patients, documents progress, and participates in planning and discharging according to the department policies and procedures. This position may also perform other assigned duties. A staff Speech/Language Pathologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients? needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting. This position must also be able to follow and adhere to the practices described in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. Educational Requirements: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology Certification/Licensure Requirements: Holds Virginia License to practice Speech Pathology. Holds CCC-SLP from American Speech and Hearing Association. If working/assigned to a PACE facility and Participants; CPR Certification and First Aid training required and must be maintained current throughout employment Experience Requirements: Previous healthcare experience preferred. If working / assigned-a PACE facility and Participants; must have one year previous work experience working with the frail and elderly.
