Epic Applications Analyst

Riverside Health System, located in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking to hire multiple Full-time Epic Application Analyst(s). We're looking for a number of team members with clinical and service expertise to support modules in the new EHR. We are currently seeking Epic 2014/2015 certified candidates in one of the following applications: Resolute Profession Billing (Provider Base Billing Experience preferred), Resolute Professional Billing Claims and Remittance, Resolute Hospital Billing, Prelude ADT, or Cadence Scheduling. If you already work for RHS and you are selected to be part of this team, Riverside will provide the training and education to become Epic certified.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinates all issues that arise during the project for their respective application, and must be knowledgeable about RHS policies, procedures and business operations

Works closely with other Epic application analysts, project managers, trainers to translate clinical and business needs into EMR functionality in a manner consistent with project timelines and budgets.

Participates as part of a team in system configuration, on-going maintenance / process improvement, change documentation, and training staff on application functionality.

Works independently in completing project task as part of the project implementation, including building / testing of system components, documentation of workflows, building of data sets, master files and reports, performs quality assurance and integrated testing on new releases / upgrades.

Develops report specifications and works closely with report writers to ensure operational and regulatory reporting needs are met including reports necessary to comply with Federal and Regulatory requirements (Meaningful Use, CMS Sore Measures, etc.)

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required or 8+ years of progressive healthcare experience. Program of study in Health Care Administration, Clinical Information Systems. Informatics, Information Technology or Sciences; RN, RRT, RPH, ARNP, PA, CPA. Relevant healthcare (hospital/medical center/integrated delivery system) experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

Certification/Licensure Requirements

Relevant Epic Certification(s) to be obtained. Completion required as defined in Epic Implementation Timeline. Existing Epic Certification(s) in relevant application preferred.

Experience

Must have 3 years of experience in progressive healthcare industry preferably in an integrated delivery network in clinical care, operations or IT system support.

Prefer 3 years of clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: OR, Anesthesia, Emergency, Pharmacy, Oncology, OB/GYN, or IT experience in CPOE, Clinical Documentation OR healthcare operations experience such as billing, scheduling, access services, health information management (HIM) or in-depth knowledge of ambulatory physician and back office nursing and specialty department clinical documentation workflows, care planning, and patient education.

Job Summary: The Epic Security Coordinator is responsible for overall Security coordination of the Epic application and will have an expert level of understanding of Epics security infrastructure and provide best practice expertise and recommendations. Security Coordinator is responsible for developing the Epic security strategy, policies, processes and procedures for the client while becoming knowledgeable on, and integrating into, existing client enterprise security models, policies and procedures. He/she will provide direction and oversight to the application analysts assigned to the security workgroup and ensure that tasks and deliverables are being completed on time and to standards.

Key Responsibilties:

Review all existing enterprise security related policies, processes and procedures and identify the integration points as it relates to the Epic implementation.

Develop Epic security policies, processes and procedures.

Establish and lead the Security Work group.

Establish a clear owner of each particular security class and user role, including menus.

Coordinate updates and define update processes within the Epic application.

Understand and be able to iterate the foundational structures of Epic software to include profiles, roles, menus and security classes. Act as the SME for all analysts to contact on an as needed base in regards to these structures.

Ensure that all access is granted within the Epic application on a least privileged model but appropriate for all job functions.

Create user records and map them to the templates built by application the application analysts.

Understanding build requirements and integration across all Epic applications and Epic environments for implementing SU packages and system upgrades as it pertains to Epic Security and the ability to communicate this information to template owners as needed.

Ensure all security meets or exceeds JCAHO or HIPPA requirements.
